First Tee Provides Youth Participants with Exceptional local and national opportunities each year!

First Tee youth participants who remain active at their chapters enjoy tremendous opportunities as they progress. Some of the local opportunities are detailed here. For national participant opportunities, please visit our "national opportunities" link to learn more. Please contact our program director / administrative office at (402) 679-3433 should you be interested in learning more about any local or national participant opportunities.

Enjoying "Inside the ropes" access at USGA and PGA Tour professional Golf Events

Omaha is the proud host to the Pinnacle Bank Championship Korn Ferry Tour event each year in July. Participants from First Tee - Omaha have the privilege of serving as Driving Range attendants and/or Standard Bearers (carrying scoring signage) for this event. In past years, youth participants and their families have also enjoyed some special opportunities to get "inside the ropes" during the USGA's US Senior Open that was held in 2013. Getting up close and personal with future and past PGA Tour stars is a great opportunity for all involved! Mark your calendar for the 2021 Pinnacle Bank Championship - July 26 - August 1 at The Club at Indian Creek.

TEAM GOLF

Access to area golf tournaments and other programs

As a registered and active participant with First Tee - Omaha, youth enjoy access to other golf programs. The City of Omaha Parks and Recs Golf Department offers a FREE golf program to youth participants, allowing them to play golf at a handful of city run golf courses. For more information, please visit the City of Omaha Parks and Recs Golf website. In addition to this program, the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour waives its registration fee, allowing First Tee youth participants access to individual and team golf competitions. For more information about the NJGT, please visit the NJGT website for current and up to date information.

Caddie Programs

As youth progress through our program and begin to fully understand golf etiquette, other local opportunities can occasionally open up. As an example in 2017, one of our participants named Michael completed an application to serve as a caddie in the Omaha Country Club Caddie Program. After completing the program screening process and other requirements, he was invited to join the Caddie Program at Omaha Country Club. Michael is pictured here in his caddy uniform. Nice work Michael!
