About Us

Since 1990, and as an inclusive youth development program we parlay lessons in golf and life skills to youth ages (5-17) in Douglas and Sarpy Counties. Very simply, we are all about the kids! Today, through our school and summer programming, we serve nearly 9,000 students.

Our Mission

Through the game of golf, we impact the lives of young people by instilling life-enhancing values through education centered around our strong commitment and emphasis of our Nine Core Values and Nine Healthy Habits that champion Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Position Statement: Since 1990 and our inception, Hogan’s Junior Golf Heroes Foundation DBA First Tee – Omaha, serve today’s youth ages (5-17.) As an inclusive youth development program, we enable kids to build strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges.  Our strong commitment to education is guided by our Nine core values and anchored by our founder’s commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.  We seamlessly integrate the game of golf, create active learning experiences as we build inner strength, self-confidence and perseverance while instilling life-enhancing values so they may become successful in the game of life!

Helping Young People Grow – A Positive Youth Development Program!

Since its inception in 1997, First Tee has introduced over 7.6 million young people to the game of golf and its inherent values through their Life Skills Experience. Through programs taught at golf courses, elementary schools and military installations, the young people are developing character by focusing on Nine Core Values: Honesty, Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Confidence, Courtesy, Sportsmanship, Responsibility and Judgment. Additionally, First Tee is addressing the health and wellness of our young people. Through a collaborative effort among First Tee, ANNIKA Foundation and Florida Hospital for Children, The First Tee’s Nine Healthy Habits were created. These healthy habits are a list of nine health and wellness topics presented as a part of First Tee, formatted for easy understanding and learning by elementary-age students and chapter participants.
