Team Golfers Kick Off Summer Season

The First Tee of Omaha’s Westwood Heights GC TEAM golfers kicked off the summer season in full swing by participating in the event held at Platteview CC in Bellevue, NE.  This group refers to themselves as the “squirrels” as each team is encouraged to have a creative team name.  TEAM GOLF is run by the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour as a fun, social and less stressful approach to tournament golf providing juniors with knowledge and skills that encourage long term youth development and a lifetime of golf enjoyment.

Nebraska Junior Golf Tour

The Nebraska Junior Golf Tour is another way for kids to enjoy the game of golf.  Tournament events allow youth golfers to engage in friendly individual competition and hone their golf skills.  NJGT recently launched “Team Golf” allowing junior golfers to compete on a team if they prefer that option over individual competition.  For more information, please visit the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour.

Youth Golfers From The First Tee Of Omaha Enjoy TEAM Golf Competition!

The First Tee of Omaha encourages youth to participant in individual and team golf competitions when able.  Many youth prefer team competition over individual competition when entering the first time.  We are excited to announce that we have our first group of TEAM golfers playing in these events.  The inaugural team is made up of 6 female golfers from our Westwood Heights GC programming site.  To access the TEAM golf event schedule, as organized and offered by the NJGT, please click here.  Eventually, The First Tee of Omaha would like to see a TEAM of golfers competing in TEAM golf events from each of our programming sites…..TEAM TFTO-Westwood Heights GC, TEAM TFTO-Steve Hogan GC, and TEAM TFTO-Spring Lake GC.  Youth ages 7-13 years of age are eligible, but we first need a parent to step forward and serve as team captain (communicate with NJGT, coordinate scheduling, submit entry forms, and coordinate rides.)  For parents interested in serving as a team captain and getting 6 youth involved on the TEAM, please contact our Executive Director or Program Director to learn more.
