GivingTuesday happens every year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving! If BlackFriday and CyberMonday were not enough, GivingTuesday rounds off the extended Thanksgiving weekend in good fashion. Taking the time to “give back” to the community is exactly what non-profit work is all about. Please remember to support all of our local charities, both on GivingTuesday and throughout the year. We at The First Tee appreciate your support, as do the many other charitable organizations that carry out important work in our community. To learn more, please visit our “Ways To Give” summary that details multiple ways to show your support of The First Tee of Omaha!

Congratulations to our summer program “Participants Of The Year” for 2016! Each year, our chapter’s coaches acknowledge one male and one female youth participant from each of our programming sites. The process of selection is not a perfect process by any means, but coaches typically nominate youth participants who are improving as golfers and/or actively and consistently displaying our 9 Core Values. “Participant of the Year” award recipients for 2016 shown here are: Adrienne Nielsen – West Omaha, Michael Faulkner Jr. – West Omaha, Tanner Muhlecke – North Omaha, and Annabelle Kircher – South Omaha. Please note that Adan Serrano – South Omaha and Maya Northcutt – North Omaha are not pictured here. Congratulations to everyone!
In 2016, Curt Knapp, Stephanie Brunt-Howard and Michael Green were all selected to join the board of directors, which oversees the youth development programming offered through The First Tee of Omaha and the Hogan’s Junior Golf Heroes Foundation. Please join us in welcoming our new board members to the team!
Each year, our chapter acknowledges the dedication and effort put forth by our entire volunteer team by recognizing a “Volunteer of the Year.” In 2016, the lead coaches decided to acknowledge two volunteers for their excellent volunteer service. Please join our entire coaching staff and board of directors in congratulating and thanking Amanda Wilms and Ashley Wilms for their volunteer support during our summer program. Both young ladies displayed exceptional commitment to our west Omaha programming at Westwood Heights GC and sincerely enjoyed working with all of the participating youth. Nice work Amanda and Ashley!
